Here's a toast to the sunrise
I got up to see the morning I finished
an eight day dog sitting job in Vero Beach.
But,
I just gotta say it,
I am a sunset girl.
Here's the few I was able to see Gulf side.
I was very blessed to be able to
take care of a loving and talented pup.
I got to see a rocket launch!
The sites in Vero Beach were lush, jungle green.
The warm temps were incredibly
therapeutic for my sore muscles
~ having broken my shoulder
a few months ago.
Florida is for the snowbirds...and lizarding around.
I had some yummy foods!
This is a fish reuben.
Delicious!
Smoothie!
Stromboli!
A huge blessing was that my maid of honor
drove a few hours to come hang out!
We visited a treasure museum.
I'm such a tourist.
I went straight to Walgreens and bought swag.
Yes, I bought these sweats.
The next search was for postcards.
I love sending friends and family greetings.
I bought this sand piper painting by a D friend!
No surprise, shopping was very beachy.
One of my favorite things is to take photos
of items that make me think of friends and family.
I spent a little more than my usual budget
I bought some handmade cards at
the Saturday morning
Vero Beach Farmer's Market.
I got to rest poolside and read a fun book
written by a friend.
I went swimming and tested my
healing shoulder and sore muscles.
I did okay!
I went on beach walks and picked up trash.
I went on beach walks and picked up trash.
And made some temporary art from it.
When I started to pick up these "balloons"
I was warned they were Man of War jellyfish
and to stay away...
I admired others' sand creations.
I got bit by invisible bugs.
I found very few shells during the entire trip.
I went to church.
When my dog sitting job ended
a friend came to take me on an adventure
to the Sarasota area.
Next stop Naples.I was able to see a friend's
pickle ball tournament
and stunning dwelling.
Then I enjoyed a visiting
with another friend at her home.
I was able to complete my Florida
BINGO card by siting
two dolphin fins and one alligator tail and snout.
Saying goodbye to the warm,
pillow soft sand was difficult.
From Vero Beach, to Sarasota, to Naples
I was able to savor moments with friends
and be overwhelmed with joy by sites and events.
Back to the bright lights of Chicago.
My time home has mainly been spent visiting with friends
and taking care of pups - plus a fantastic convertible ride to the city!
My life is very sweet.
I am thankful.
Looking back on the last few weeks
I am able to say I am so grateful for
friendships, travel, health and family.
I hope as you March onward
you are experiencing joys as well.
PEACE BE WITH YOU!
